Founded in 1926, Prince Matchabelli perfumes are a creation of a perfume house established by the Gregorian prince himself and his wife, famous Italian actress Norina Gilli. Prince Matchabelli first opened shop in NYC’s Madison Avenue and introduced the first two signature scents of the brand: Princess Norina and Ave Maria.

Made by royalty and fit for royalty, Prince Matchabelli perfumes have made custom scents for nobles like the Georgian Queen Tamar, Prince Georges, Princess Marie, the Duchess of York, the Princess of Wales, and Eleanor Roosevelt. To fit its concept, Prince Matchabelli perfumes are packaged in a crown-shaped bottle accented with the Byzantine-style crown logo.

Over the years, Prince Matchabelli has changed hands various times until Unilever acquired it in 1987. But one thing hasn’t changed—the scents of the classic perfume house continues to sell with 19 signature perfumes available in the market today.
