Just how much would a person be willing to spend for signature perfumes? The thing about authentic and original scents is that they do come at a price. But did you know that prices can escalate by as much as a million dollars?
Such an investment could be called ridiculous by most people but for those who can afford high-priced perfumes, it is all about the quality and the product. Perfumes are not that different from signature items such as bags or wardrobes. However, being something that is consumable, attention shifts to the bottle and packaging which in the end becomes a rare collectible.
Seeing bottles embellished with special stones or carved out of special elements is one factor that makes them stand out. Some may care while others may not. But then again, you do have to consider that everything is tied up. A certain fragrance becomes exotic and lush not only through the brand manufacturer but also by how they are ultimately represented.
Hence, do not be surprised why some people would go for the expensive perfumes, particularly the hard to find ones. These people are not throwing money because they have plenty to spare. Rather, they want to buy what they pay for.
So if you hear about someone spending as much as a million on one brand of perfume, do not be surprised. Ideally this would be limited to those who are earning millions of dollars, and can thus put premium on the fragrance that they wear, especially the high profile ones.
But what makes perfumes so expensive? Would there be one that would really cost as much as a million? The answer to that is yes, as you will get to see in the 5 perfume brands listed below.
Perfume making undergoes the same process as any commodity. It requires the proper production to which rare flowers, herbs or roots would be needed. The bottles where they would be contained are not the ordinary ones, usually moulded and embedded with special gems or stones.
Then there are the celebrity endorsers and the promotional materials that would require millions to produce. Sum it all up and perhaps you can get an inkling of why perfumes are priced the way they are.
Some examples of these high priced perfumes are listed below. Depending on a person’s fancy, here are some of the most expensive ones you can find in the market.
How on earth could this perfume cost $1,000,000? Well if you consider the fact that it comes in an apple-shaped 14 carat yellow and white gold bottle, together with gems that were placed by hand, then perhaps such could somehow justify the price. Among the gems included are 2,700 white diamonds, turquoise and other precious jewels that display the Manhattan Skyline as well as other continents of the world. It took as much as 1,500 hours to place all the 2,909 stones on the bottle.
